ABOUT
We are SYMPNEA, a music project & video game/film composers.
The project was initially born from Anthi Bozoviti, who αfter years of musical exploration, began composing in 2021, exploring sounds and musical ideas driven by her own personal vision.
Soon after, Anthi Bozoviti and Rafaela Joi, discovered a shared artistic vision despite their different music backgrounds. Their collaboration was born from a desire to explore deeper philosophical ideas through music, creating a world where strength and sensitivity coexist.
During the early recordings of their first compositions, Anthi and Rafaela met Dimitris Giannopoulos, a musician and producer, who was also really interested in the same aspects of music and life. What began as a production collaboration naturally evolved into a creative partnership, built on a shared artistic language and a common vision.
Together, we formed SYMPNEA in October 2022.
SYMPNEA comes from the Greek word “sympnoia,” literally meaning “shared breath.” It represents the connection created when different individuals or elements come together, sharing a common vision, purpose, moving together as one, while preserving their unique identities.
We believe that true connection is created through the union of opposites: darkness and light, power and vulnerability, the ancient and the modern. Through this balance, we seek to express the full spectrum of human emotions and experiences.
In a world shaped by separation and division, we believe that music has the power to remind us of what connects us all.
This is SYMPNEA.

My love for music truly began in childhood. Music was always present in my home, filling our family roadtrips and everyday moments. From a very young age, I felt that music had the power to create a different realm. A realm that would fill me with imagination, mystery, adventure, and emotions.
I still remember some moments that deeply shaped my connection with music. One of them was the first time I saw and heard Mythodea by Vangelis Papathanasiou on television. My young mind could not fully comprehend what I was experiencing, but the feeling it created inside me was unbelievable. Something very primal had awaken my subsconscious and this music score left a permanent mark on me.
During our family roadtrips, we were listening to artists such as Pink Floyd, Enigma, Vangelis, and Yanni. Me and my sister were singing the melodies in the back of the car, while our parents showed us the world. They became soundtracks of our lives, a unique experience that I still carry with me today. I associate those melodies with exploration, nature, mystery, universe, and the feeling of discovering something unknown. Those artists became the foundation of the musical world that I would eventually get inspiration from.
I started learning music with a piano teacher when I was around 10 years old. After 5 years of studying piano, I decided I wanted to explore the electric guitar. Pink Floyd had a huge inpact on me and I was in awe while I was listening to the amazing melodic solos and interesting rythm patterns. Some years later, I would explore all the colors of hard rock, heavy metal. The emotions on this genre are so raw, that you can feel the integrity of the player, singer, which really made a huge impression on me.My first true connection with video game music began with the original Tomb Raider games. I will never forget the iconic main theme, the sense of mystery, and the feeling of searching for lost civilizations and forgotten knowledge. Combining that experience with my deep admiration for Vangelis, I developed a profound love for the ancient Greek lyre. The combination of the harp-like sound, ancient Greek philosophy and old civilizations, mythology, and the feeling of timeless exploration sparked a fascination that continues to inspire me today.
After discovering video games through Lara Croft’s adventures, I became completely immersed in this world. During some of the hardest times in my life, I found myself becoming one with the character, the story and the world of the video game itself. I thought that was magical.
Throughout the years, many games have influenced me. But to name just a few:
Tomb Raider I, III & The Last Revelation
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Silent Hill 2
The Last of Us I, II
Age of Empires
Amnesia: The Dark Descent
Resident Evil
Dino Crisis
Pokémon Gold & Silver, Crystal, Sapphire
Assassin’s Creed II & Odyssey
God of War IIiption text goes here

Ever since I can remember myself, I have been searching for ways to connect with people through different means to an end.
During my childhoud, I remember myself telling my parents that I want to live as many lives as I can, to experience different characters and people. This led me to explore three different types of art languages: music, theatre and psychology.
As a singer and songwriter, I always try to write from a place of heart and authenticity. I believe a voice can hold what words alone cannot tell.
A melody can bring back memories, or even create new ones!
Lyrics can give shape to feelings I struggle to name and epxress, and a song can make me feel understood, and trully get connected with strangers. On the other hand, theatre is an art form that forces you to brutally express the character that you portray, even though your own self struggles to do so. This art, has tought me that the ability to immerse to someone else’s shoes, and to explore so many and different perspectives, that can not only cultivate empathy and understanding, but complete experience of oneself. What a weird contradiction.
Psychology taught me to look beneath the surface and to understand why we people feel what we feel, what drives us, what breaks us, and what helps us heal. In other words, once you dig enough within your own realm of consciousness, you’’ll be able to meet your true self.
These three art forms have shaped me not only me as an artist, but also the stories I want to tell. Whether I'm writing a song, or creating thematic vocals, my goal is always the same: to serve the story and create an emotional connection.I am drawn to projects that invite people to feel to lose themselves in a world, recognize themselves in a character, or carry a melody with them long after the experience is over.
I believe music is more than something we listen to. It is something we remember. Something we inhabit. It has the power to become part of a person's story. At the end of the day, we are all searching for the same thing: to be seen, to be understood, and to belong.
For me, music is where that connection begins.iption text goes here

My relationship with music began long before I ever picked up my first instrument.
As a child, I was captivated by the soundtracks of my favorite video games, from the epic music of Age of Mythology and Final Fantasy to the warm melodies of Kirby.
That was the first time I realized that music could tell stories and create entire worlds. When I started playing the piano, I discovered that I could express myself in the same way.
As the years went by and my musical horizons expanded, I felt the need to move beyond interpretation and begin creating music of my own.
Bands like Opeth and Blind Guardian showed me how technicality, emotion, and storytelling can coexist beautifully within a single work, profoundly shaping the way I approach music.
During my teenage years, I picked up the bass guitar and started writting my own ideas. From atmospheric hard rock to extreme metal, I would add layers of piano or synths on top of them, and this created a beautiful contradiction of timbres (harsh and soft, distorted and melodic). This gave a spark in my brain.
I was intrigued on how important the frequencies and timbres are, and how the bass and drums can take off the whole track, or spoil it.After completing my studies in piano, harmony and counterpoint, I realized I wanted to understand music in its entirety.
This led me to study audio engineering and music production, allowing me to take part in every stage of the creative process, from the initial idea to the final result.
Today, as I am composing, producing, and teaching, my goal remains the same: to create music that can transport the listener, just as music transported me when this journey first began.
Some of my personal favorite video games and movie music are:
Age of Mythology
Sacred
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Pokemon Red, Ruby
Kirby
Final Fantasy X
Zelda: Ocarina of Time
Interstellar
Lord of the Rings
